Approximately 35,731 people live within the City’s 2.5 square-mile land area. Future
clean-up and revitalization efforts will aim to encourage affordable housing commercial
development, job training, greenspace, and climate resilience. These identified
objectives within the City’s General Plan will help stabilize Bell’s residential
neighborhoods, alleviate overcrowding, address substandard housing, build more
affordable housing to reduce rent burden on households and utilize residential & mixed-use development to create more vibrant areas.
ECRG revitalization efforts will analyze the sites for any environmentally hazardous
materials and will provide the proper mitigation efforts, if necessary. With the award of
the DRSC/ECRG grant, the path towards a more prosperous future for all can now
begin!
